Paris hosting the first Collective Action summit with measurable goals for everyone to Act for Fashion, now.

In support of the United Nations SDG 2030 (Sustainable Development Goals), Lablaco, the first Circular Fashion platform, is launching the Circular Fashion Summit, the first Collective Action summit for fashion held during Paris Fashion Week on September 28th, 2019, at Station F in Paris – the largest tech hub in the world, including tech giants i.e. Apple, Google, Facebook, Amazon and more than 200 international startups, including Lablaco.

Why Circular Fashion Summit?

Scrutiny of the fashion industry’s impact on the global climate crisis has hit new heights in recent months. Globally, the fashion industry is responsible for about 10 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions, according to the United Nations, more than the international aviation and shipping industries combined. The fashion industry will end up using up to a quarter of the world’ s carbon budget by 2050 and emissions from this sector are estimated to rise by more than 60% by 2030.

It is an urgent need to Act Collectively, now. Not only businesses but also every individual.

We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.”
Anne Marie Bonneau

We believe that appropriate application of innovation and technology can effectively accelerate the transition towards a Circular Fashion System and reduce global environmental impact. For this reason, Lablaco decided to provide an open platform, empowering the first Collective Action summit in Paris, the absolute fashion capital of the world and now also of sustainability, thanks to initiatives like the Fashion Pact and many others.

The Circular Fashion Summit will take place at Station F, the largest tech hub in the world, to share precious industry knowhow and start implementing measurable collective actions to make the change happen, immediately. It is also committed to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals SDG2030, No. 9, 10, and 12, executing concrete and measurable actions with individuals and companies, all together.

What is Circular Fashion Summit?

Circular Fashion Summit is the first Collective Action Summit powered by Lablaco, with a clear aim to tackle environmental issues and to accelerate digital transformation of the fashion and textile industry, by providing the Lablaco open platform as technology enabler, uniting industry leaders from Kering, IBM, Adidas, Eco Age and many other great companies to share knowledge and to take measurable actions all together within a 12-month timeframe.

Another big spotlight of the Summit is the Impact Design Hub, a curated design collective showcasing selected international avant-garde designer brands who are working on “Impact Design”collections, creating waves of accelerating sustainable design in the fashion industry. All day free entrance open to the public and buyers at Open Platform in Station F.

The whole Summit will be hosted by Evelyn Mora, Consultant & Founder of Helsinki Fashion Week.  At the end of panel discussions, a series of industry Catalysts will be announcing the first commitment to the goals. Ranging from Cristina Ventura, Chief Catalyst Officer of Luxarity of The Lane Crawford Joyce Group, Patrick Duffy, Founder of Global Fashion Exchange, Shaway Yeh, Founder of YehYehYeh & Group Style Editorial Director of Modern Media Group, Isabelle Lefort, Co-founder of Paris Good Fashion, Kerry Bannigan, Founder of Conscious Campaign & Executive Producer of SDG Media Zone.

September 28, 2019 is day 1 of the first 365 days of a series of measurable, collective actions to work towards a more circular and sustainable fashion system. All actions contributed will be traced on Lablaco, showcasing the progress on the Circular Fashion Summit website and via Newsletter.

How to join the action?

If you are a brand, a retailer, an influencer or an organization who has intention to join the catalyst team and contribute to one of the Goals, you can write to and leave CFS team a message, mentioning specifically which goals you would like to help achieve. CFS team will soon be in contact with you to assist in the process of achieving the Goals together. Your brand name and logo will be listed on the Circular Fashion Summit website and become a change maker for a new Circular Fashion system.

“We are never too big or too small to act and make an impact.”

Thanks to the open platform provided by Lablaco, every individual can also participate in one of the 3 goals, to collectively prevent clothing ending up in the landfill: By sharing pre-owned items on Lablaco and joining #FashionFootprintChallenge online collective campaign, it is aimed to recirculate 100,000 items, saving an estimated 2,000 tons of CO2 and 3,000,000 liters of water from landfills and incinerators worldwide.

Starting from collaboration with first mover companies such as The Lane Crawford Joyce Group, Asia’s largest luxury retailer, everyone can share and donate any garment no longer of use on Lablaco, and each shared item will be added to the global collective counter. You will also receive a personal Impact Calculation, being rewarded with discounts to shop Impact Design collections from international creators, all in the same app.
